Welcome

Hello, I’m Laura.

I am the face behind Empowering Wellbeing. I am a qualified as an Integrative Counsellor & Therapeutic Coach. My approach is very empowering and empathetic, through my counselling training I am equipped to support my clients to uncover the deeper root of issues along with my coaching skills which enable me to support clients to make positive and lasting change in the present and into the future.

I work individually with clients face to face, online and on the phone and am experienced in working with a wide range of issues. As all clients are unique, I work in a bespoke and solution focused format which creates great results for my clients.

I am passionate about Mindfulness, it has changed my own life and helps me cope with stress. I follow Buddhism as a spiritual path, viewing Mindfulness as a way of being and an approach to life. Due to my personal love for Mindfulness, I trained as a Mindfulness Practitioner and this approach is very much is weaved into the way I work and how I help my clients. Mindful awareness, self compassion, along with other mindful principles give me a way of accessing peace within and gives me strategies to adapt to any challenges I face.

I am qualified in Relationship counselling so I also work with couples and within family dynamics to overcome conflict with an aim to live more harmoniously. I love this part of my work and find it very fulfilling.

I am qualified as a Training Facilitator and through hard work and dedication have successfully gained Accreditation for training courses. Through doing my own training to become a counsellor I realised the life changing impact of the courses so felt called to be able to share this with others. Alongside the counselling training we have developed the range of CPD for counsellors. Myself and my team of Tutors are very passionate about the topics we teach, we offer a safe, supportive environment in which our students can grow.

On a more personal level a bit about me; I am an Empath, an ENFJ on the Myers Briggs and a Generator in Human Design (you will know what these mean if you are into self awareness tests!) I love running and being in nature, solitude is an important part of my self care routine along with learning new things|!

I am a Mum of three beautiful children and dog Mum to Honey my Show type Cocker Spaniel. Due to my lifestyle as a caregiver and the energy and focus needed in my professional role; means that seeking balance is key for me so I call upon mindfulness as a way of living. I practice a varied range of self care and maintain healthy boundaries in an aim to feel well, calm and present. (This is an ongoing practice and I don’t always get it right, but knowing what we need when we tip into overwhelm is key to recovering)

As a mother who is a trained therapist, I am passionate about conscious Parenting, I advocate prioritising parent self care. I am aware of the modern environment, stress and busyness and aware of the challenges this brings for parents and families.

Becoming a therapist has been the most rewarding journey I have undertaken and I feel so privileged to share in my clients inner world. I appreciate that I get to hold a special space in which we witness their healing, their awareness grow. To see them implement changes that are right for them over time and to see their growth happen is a truly beautiful process. I get a lot of fulfilment from teaching and my therapy work as I see the growth that happens right before my eyes and when receive such lovely feedback from my clients and my students!

I am truly grateful to call this my work.

‘‘My sessions with Laura have been really valuable and helpful, she creates a safe space filled with acceptance.

Laura’s approach is validating with gentle accountability and guidance. The space provided is non judgemental and empowering, allowing you to unravel your own feelings and thoughts and your own pace.

It has been a really transformative and life changing experience for me and given me the skills to help myself.

Sometimes therapy can be intimidating, but Laura makes you feel at ease and safe to express yourself.

I would recommend Laura as a therapist to everyone! ‘‘
